Mentor News
Chung King Studios in New York City is not only one of the
Recording Connection’s top mentor studios—it’s also one of the most in-demand studios in the industry! (Chung King’s client list includes such names as
Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Aerosmith and
Jay Z!) Recently, rap artist
Foxy Brown visited the studio for her interview with FUZE and the studio staff tells us
LL Cool J is scheduled to record some tracks!
Check out photos of the studio here.
The west-coast branch of
Sanctum Sound (formerly known as “
Serenity East“),
Serenity West Recording is housed in the historic 5540 Hollywood Building. The landmark structure has played a huge role in the emerging Hollywood film industry dating back to the 1920s. In those days, 5540 Hollywood housed sound stages, studios and executive offices and was frequented by many of the biggest celebrities of the day. In the 1980s, the rooms were converted into recording facilities by a studio known as
The Grinder. Serenity West took over in 2005.
Today, the building houses four separate studio rooms with some of the best recording gear available anywhere. Serenity West has continued the Hollywood celebrity legacy of this space, only now the celebrities are more in the realm of music than film. The client list includes names like
Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, John Legend, Smashing Pumpkins, Diddy, Nicki Minaj and many, many others. (By the way—the studio continues to be a favorite filming location, as well.)
The
Recording Connection is proud we can send so many of our students to such a prestigious recording studio for their apprenticeships. Serenity West is very supportive of the mission.
Cameell Hanna, studio manager and partner says,
“This is the best program in the world. The staff at RRF, your curriculums and the way you treat your mentors is very special. I love you guys.” The feeling is mutual.
