Taylor Crommie (Los Angeles, CA) was among the winners of the Csaba Petocz Master Class at the legendary Sunset Sound, taught by Grammy award-winning producer Joe Chiccarelli on August 19th and 20th. Speaking of the experience, Taylor says,
“As I went into the session, held at Sunset Sound, I expected a crash course in engineering & mixing, which I got, but what I really left with was a new approach of producing. Joe Chiccarelli is amazing. He knew exactly how to keep the flow & guide the band to achieve the best possible sound for the record. I’ve always believed that the vibe is the most important aspect of any session, and to watch that is something you can’t really explain, it just happens…”

Juan Armijos (Los Angeles, CA) recently told us that his mentor, Rob Weston of Straight Wire films has been “shining a light on the commercial viability” of various films. Juan says,
“When we stay on a script for a whole day, his notes help me realize what sells, what is more attractive for financiers or producers or whatever… He talks about stuff to other producers, he talks to directors, he talks to the writers of the scripts. And the interconnection and the social component of the whole thing is very interesting to me, and I learn a lot.”
