Yaritza Huertas
Radio Connection apprentice
Yaritza Huertas has been having a great time developing her radio broadcasting skills at WCTC in New Jersey. Just 3 weeks in, she’s taken to the biz like a fish to water and mentor Tommy G keeps on showing her more.
“Working with Tommy G has been such an experience thus far. So far not only have I been on air, but I have also produced a show, edited the show, and have done segments for the show as well. I am learning more and more every day and I am working to become as knowledgeable as possible about the business and work ethic. So far I am really just having a good time while learning at the same time. I just hope good things come from all this.”

Recording Connection student
Nicole Thorp, apprentice at Foundry Studios (Tacoma, WA) recently had the chance to test her micing knowledge firsthand thanks to mentor Pierre A Ferguson.
“Pierre asked me to help set up mics for the drum kit. I took all the mics we needed out and put them on the stands…I then assisted Pierre with the entire session, going in and also micing up the guitar, bass, setting up the SM7B for vocals, and getting all of the equipment put away after the session was over. It was a real day in the life of an audio engineer and after I left and got in my car I knew this was the career for me, because I enjoyed every second of it.”
