Sponsored by Bud Light, Citi, Pepsi, Smirnoff, Samsung, Toyota, High Brew Coffee, Angry Orchard, Zippo Encore, Fuse Festivals, and BMI, Voodoo Festival has been going yearly since 1999. Originally the brainchild of Stephen Rehage, the CEO of Rehage Entertainment, Voodoo has grown by leaps and bounds every year. In 1999, the headliners were Moby and Wyclef Jean. The festival was so successful that they immediately began planning the next year’s event.
As the festival boom happened, Voodoo grew with it. Taking on new sponsors and building out the roster of performers and guests with each subsequent year. After the initial single day event in 1999, Voodoo transitioned into a two-day event and then grew even larger as time went on.
Since roughly 2006, the festival has been operating with 3 distinct areas and 6 distinct stages. They’ve profiled numerous acts from all genres of music. They’ve featured Calvin Harris, Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, The Gaslight Anthem, Boyz Noize, Big Gigantic, How To Destroy Angels, Alkaline Trio, and loads of other acts.
This year’s festival promises to be one of the best ever. Featuring an all-star roster of performers from nearly every genre imaginable, Voodoo is sure to be one of the top festivals that everyone is discussing this year. With the amount of talent that they have collected, there’s no way it’s not going to be an amazing show.
