This Weekend – Wrecking Ball Fest Atlanta

Not to be beat by last year’s killer lineup, the second annual Wrecking Ball festival comes in swinging, this year, with a lineup that absolutely crushes.
Taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, the two-day music fest will feature the cream of the crop of the indie, punk, emo, and hardcore rock scenes, boasting performances from legends like L7, Dinosaur Jr. and, notably, Motion City Soundtrack who are putting up a final round of U.S. performances before officially calling it quits.

Amongst the legends, though, are fantastic new-comers, specifically the joyously wild, Diarrhea Planet. The six-piece garage band from Tennessee has been known to put on some of the rowdiest, adrenaline-fueled live performances in recent memory (this writer had the pleasure of witnessing one of those performances, firsthand, and can confirm that it’s as enjoyably riotous as people say it is). Festival attendees are definitely in for a treat with these guys.

It isn’t all just about the music, though: Wrecking Ball will also feature some of Atlanta’s very best food trucks, offering up delicious goodies throughout the festival’s run.
It’s only Wrecking Ball’s second year in existence, but with its consistently amazing lineups, we think it’s a festival that’s here to stay.
